I had a piece of bolt fall from under my car could it be from the rack and pinion steering?
I found the bolt head about the size of a quarter in my driveway (from a chevy lumina) and prior to this incident my car felt like it was “jumping a gear” when i was turning. Any thoughts whether the bolt could be connected to the steering and can I continue to drive my car?
rack & pinion has no exposed bolts that will fall under your car, it came from somewhere else, try to watch and feel any vibration in your engine it may come from any attachement in your engine, like alternator, crank case, air con compressor, or any parts that is attached to the body, engine and other moving parts like your brake system, links and joints…
