Can you paint guitar hardware?
I'm a lefty RRV copy. What I am planning to renovate and paint the black with a Celtic / Norwegian design stenciled on in gold. The only thing is, the current hardware I have silver, and I am a little strapped for money to buy a new Floyd Rose (although I probably could machines buttons and afford) in gold, especially because I need a lefty one. So it would be possible for the required parts in metallic gold spray, or would simply chip / rub like it is metal?
Rough it a bit so the paint bite (base metal painting process). Use a good quality epoxy paint. I used this great appliance epoxy paint used car parts to paint. It looked good … nice glossy finish and it was to some considerable abuse. That should work great. And you can get in all colors and is designed to be touched and resist the oils in your fingers ..
